Hmmm good argument, does it? Does it really? Well yeah, if it has something to bring to the table. So what does the new Carl Martin Atlantic Chorus bring to the table apart from the stellar looks and smaller footprint? Well like the old Chorus, it has the same Speed/Depth controls, but it also has a couple unusual tricks that Carl found up his sleeve. First of all, the Atlantic Chorus has a Level control. This allows you to place the Chorus where-ever you need in the mix, or to hit the front of the amp harder and give the Chorus some edge and grit. Secondly Carl has added a Rate control which goes from pure Chorus (0) to Vibrato (10) and every level in between. These two features along with that famous Carl Martin analog sound, take the Atlantic Chorus to a new plateau where creativity becomes second nature! Check out the new two-toned Ocean Blue anodized diecast case, head mounted Input/Output/9v and that awesome Carl Martin DC/DC converter circuitry which allows the pedal to run with +-12V internally (this means better parts and better sound) while still powering the pedal with a standard 9v 200mA external power supply. Highly powered and totally noise free, the DC Factory doesn't take up too much realestate on your pedalboard and literally weighs about 2/3 of a kilogram (1.5 lbs). To meet these goals, we had to forget about the standard toroidal transformers and design a fully digital switch mode power supply! The benefits go beyond ample power, the size and weight are reduced and most importantly, there is no radiation of hum to Wah pedals or certain analog drive pedals.

Inside the attractive grey anodized housing are 5, 100% isolated and separated, 500 mA power supplies, four with two 9v DC output jacks, and 1 with two 12v DC output jacks. These 10 output jacks supply a massive 2500mA of pure clean power for your effects. Most digital pedals require somewhere between 300-400mA of power, and your standard analogue pedals somewhere around 20-50mA, so you have the option to run up to 5 analog pedals and 5 digital pedals simultaneously! On top of that, using the Current Doubler Cable, you can plug into 2 DC Outputs (as shown in the diagram) for 18v of power! The DC Factory is fine to use on any pedal board or on it's own, but it is also compatible with PedalTrain PT-VDL-MK (mounting brackets not included).

Power supply set up...

The DC Factory can power up to 5 digital pedals when you plug one of each into the five separated and isolated digital power supplies, and also 5 analogue effects when you plug them into the second jack in each of the 5 power supplies, as long as the power demand for the two pedals in each PSU does not exceed 500mA.

The new Carl Martin Panama Overdrive features a cool anodized case and that awesome Carl Martin DC/DC converter circuitry which allows the pedall to run with +-12V internally (this means better parts and better sound). A pedal that would combine Greg's unique High Gain and Crunch tones, but allow him to manipulate these sounds and layer them for even more guitar fun. A little unorthodox yes, but Carl was never one to back down from a challenge, nor one to think inside the box. The result is the Greg Howe Signature Lick Box, and not only does it fulfill Greg's requirements, but it adds even more great tones to Greg's palette!

So what is this crazy pedal? Well, at first glance it looks like many other Carl Martin pedals...there is a High Gain channel which has loads of bottom end and nice crisp highs, a very dynamic Crunch channel which emphasises the mids with very little compression, and of course that famous 12db Boost channel that we are all so familiar with. So that's it? Ok, so the High Gain and Crunch channels were voiced to Greg's spec's but it's still just a pedal based on Greg Howe's own signature tones? Nope...underneath the simple cosmetics is a rethinking of how these channels work together. Yes, you can use either the High Gain or Crunch channels on their own (and they are awesome!), and you can adjust the tone for each with it's dedicated Tone control, and yes, you can also add up to 12 db of crystal clean Boost to either of those channels...but you can also turn on both gain channels together! By placing the High Gain first in the chain, you allow the Crunch voicing to overrule the High Gain while adding a few db to your volume. You lose some of the lows and highs, but this results in a focused and controlled mid-range that cuts through the mix. Super simple but extremely versatile, the DC Drive features Level Tone and Drive controls which do the obvious, but it also has the Reg/Fat switch.....this is where the magic begins. In the Reg setting you get a traditional overdrive sound that is very quiet and adds no color to your tone. Dial in just enough to put an edge on your sound or crank it right up to full saturation, the DC Drive is pleasantly musical. Now switch over to the Fat setting and get more...much more. There's more drive, more mids, more bass, more natural compression, more sustain, and... who wouldn't want want more of that? The Fat setting is darker, and much more modern, so you get two distinct drives in one pedal. Only the clean boost was dropped from the original pedal in order to save space. Carl, is a smart man. Check out the new look DC Drive...cool, anodized, smaller footprint, die cast case, head mounted input/output/9v and that awesome Carl Martin DC/DC converter circuitry which allows the pedal to run with +-12V internally (this means better parts and better sound), all while being powered by a standard 9v 200mA power supply. To begin with, we have added a Tap Tempo function. For those familiar with delay pedals, the Tap Tempo allows the player to tap in the tempo he choses to use with his playing. Simply flip the switch that says Manual Time toward the name Red Repeat and with your toe, tap the footswitch marked Tap Tempo to the beat of the song. This allows your echoes to be spaced precisely with the tempo of the song, faster or slower, depending on your style. When The Manual Time switch is flipped away from the Red Repeat 2016 Edition decal, the pedal goes back to setting the space between echoes with the Time knob. The second special feature is the Modulation switch. By engaging this switch, and adjusting the black mini-pots marked Depth and Speed...you can modulate the echoes of your notes so that they mimick the 'wow and flutter' of a vintage tape echo!
