Workshop-direct
is also a quieter
supply chain.
When the order goes from the maker's bench to your hands without a regional warehouse in the middle, the freight footprint is shorter, the pay-out reaches the workshop intact, and the relationship survives. This is what we mean when we say "direct from the workshop."
Three things a shorter chain changes.
The maker survives
Workshop-direct sales pay the workshop the workshop's published rate. No distributor margin, no regional importer cut. Generations-old benches stay open because the unit economics still work.
The freight is simpler
One shipping leg from the workshop to the buyer, instead of two or three through warehouses. Shorter physical chain means lower fuel-per-piece and less packaging churn.
The story survives
You can still answer "where did this come from?" twenty years later. Provenance, build week, verifying specialist — all on file. Vintage value, when the time comes, depends on this.
What we actually do.
Workshop-direct as default
For the 80%+ of the catalogue where it's possible, orders flow directly to the maker. Where regional licensing or stocking constraints require otherwise (some accessories, bulk consumables), the path is named on the file.
Named provenance, permanent
Every Workshop-Verified order ships with a provenance record: maker, workshop, build week, verifying specialist. Filed permanently and recoverable on request twenty years later.
No own-brand cosplay
We don't private-label generic instruments under a TMC name. Every brand on the catalogue is the maker's actual brand — the one stamped on the bell, engraved on the body, printed on the score.
Repairable, traceable
If a Workshop-Verified instrument needs warranty service, we route to the maker through us — you don't email Salzburg or Brussels yourself. Approved technicians for out-of-warranty work are named, not anonymous.
No fabricated claims
We do not fabricate endorsements, customer counts, or "as featured in" credits. Where we say "principal players choose this", we mean specific principal players whose names we'd produce in a private setting if challenged.
Confidential by default
Concierge files are private. Estate and collector inquiries are NDA-eligible from the first message. Customer purchase history is not shared with third parties for marketing.
Pay the workshop, not the warehouse. Name the maker, not the SKU. Tell the story, not the spec sheet.
