The Student rate

Conservatoire / University music students
10%off accessories

For currently-enrolled music students at recognized conservatoires and university programmes. Verified by current student ID, transcript, or programme letter. Annual renewal.

Active studio & conservatoire faculty
15%off accessories

For working teachers — private studio, college / conservatoire faculty, school band directors. Verified by faculty appointment, business license (for studio teachers), or programme letter.

The Pro rate

Working orchestral / chamber / freelance pros
15%+ priority

For credentialed working professionals: orchestral musicians under contract, freelancers with verifiable performance history, chamber ensembles. Verified by orchestra contract, IMG Artists / agent letter, or recent performance verification.

Four steps, one rate sheet.

Apply once; verified status is permanent on your account. Annual renewal for student tier; one-time verification for teacher and pro tiers (with periodic re-verification).

Verify

We check the credential. Student: enrolment letter or transcript. Teacher: faculty appointment or studio license. Pro: orchestra contract or agent letter.

Confirm

Approved status is added to your TMC account. The rate sheet applies automatically at checkout. No coupon codes; no manual entry.

Step · 04

Renew

Student tier: annual renewal each fall. Teacher and Pro: re-verified every 3 years or upon request.

Is the programme rate stackable with other promotions?+
No. Programme rates apply to standard catalogue prices. We don't run general discounts so this isn't typically a question, but if a workshop runs a maker-side promotion the rates don't compound.
Can a school apply on behalf of multiple students?+
For school-tier ordering at scale, the right channel is the For Programmes page (institutional PO + auto-tier from 8 instruments). The student tier here is for individual student purchases.
What if I'm a professional and a teacher?+
Apply for the Pro tier. The Teacher tier benefits are largely included in Pro; mention the teaching context in the notes and we'll add the studio-quote access if relevant.
How long does verification take?+
Most applications are verified within two business days from credential receipt. Pro tier credentials sometimes take longer if we need to confirm an orchestra contract date.
Does the rate apply to workshop-direct instrument orders?+
Yes — at reduced percentages on instrument orders (5% student, 10% teacher, 15% pro on step-up & pro instruments). Workshop-direct flagship orders ($10k+) may have additional considerations and route through the Concierge.
Is the rate retroactive?+
No. The rate sheet applies to orders placed after approval. Recent purchases (within 30 days) can sometimes be re-billed at programme rate — ask your specialist.
