Conga, bongo,
timbale, cowbell.
Martin Cohen founded LP after he couldn't find decent congas to play with the Latin jazz bands in 1960s New York. He started importing wood shells from Cuba and then manufacturing them himself in New Jersey. Within a decade, LP had become the brand professional Latin percussionists played.
Tito Puente, Mongo Santamaría, Sheila E., Giovanni Hidalgo, Karl Perazzo, Raul Rekow — the LP signature line. The Galaxy and Classic conga series; the Tito Puente timbale; the Salsa Cowbell. The catalogue covers every Latin and crossover hand-percussion instrument.
