Izzo was founded in 1945 in São Paulo, Brazil. Originally a string maker, the atelier expanded in 1960 to drumheads and tambourines, beginning its journey into percussion.
Today Izzo is internationally recognised as a benchmark in Brazilian percussion. The catalogue covers surdos, repiniques, caixas, and the full samba percussion family. The professional Timbra line debuted at Musikmesse Frankfurt 2012.
