Remove the bottom caps from the instrument, taking care not to lose the springs, then, with warm, soapy water, simply use the brush to clean inside the valve block to remove any build-up of oil residue and debris. Washing-up liquid or a similar detergent is fine. Brush each valve casing at least fifteen times over a minimum period of thirty seconds to ensure clean and hygienic valves. Gently clean the valves (remembering to keep them in order) using the same hot, soapy water.
