The Rubank progression — Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced Method — exists for every American band instrument: flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone (each voice), trumpet, horn, trombone, baritone, tuba, percussion. Three books per instrument, used in sequence from sixth grade through college audition.

The companion Rubank Solos and Studies books cover every state festival list. Eric Nelson, Joe Skornicka, Himie Voxman, Robert Whaley — the editorial line is the working American wind-band pedagogy.
