The title of the present work – translated as “Capriccio on the departure of his most beloved brother” – reveals that this is programmatic, onomatopoeic music of the kind that was very popular in the 17th and 18th centuries. In its six short and imaginatively-titled movements Bach shows a different side of himself from the usual polyphonist. Perhaps we owe this piece to the departure of his brother Jacob Bach, who entered service in Sweden in 1704.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Henle Urtext Edition","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":53483896602942,"sku":"51481305","price":11.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0695\/1396\/9982\/files\/51481305_1.jpg?v=1778712239","url":"https:\/\/themusiciansclub.net\/products\/capriccio-sopra-la-lontananza-bwv-992-ed-georg-von-dadelsen","provider":"The Musicians Club","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
