Music Sales was the British group built around Chester Music (concert, founded 1860) and Novello (choral and church music, founded 1811), expanded through Wise Publications (popular and rock folios) and Bosworth (educational and folk). The American imprint distributed the group's classical and popular catalogues in the US for decades.
In 2017 the entire Music Sales group was acquired by Hal Leonard. The MSA imprint remains; the editions and catalogues continue under their original colophon. What changed: US distribution moves through the Hal Leonard system.
