The synthetic reed by Vandoren

The new VK reed is made of a composite material specially developed by Vandoren , the result of 7 years of research.

This fiber composite material does not imitate the structure of the reed. It reproduces the essential physical characteristics allowing the same acoustic behavior to be obtained.

The available strengths of Vandoren VK reeds are six: 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, 5.5 and 6.0.

The VK reed is currently only available in a traditional cut for Clarinet.

The Vandoren VK reed is truly innovative, both in terms of the material it is made of and the method of obtaining the material. It is the subject of an international patent.

The Vandoren VK reed, as well as its material, are produced in France in Bormes les Mimosas.
