Paul Dessau. Paul Dessau (1894-1979) was a German Democratic Republic composer. Born 19 December 1894 in Hamburg; died 28 June 1979 in Königs Wusterhausen. Paul Dessau was a German composer and conductor. He collaborated with Bertolt Brecht and composed incidental music for his plays, and several operas based on them.
