Schaum Publications was founded in 1936 by John W. Schaum, a Milwaukee piano teacher, and grew into one of the staples of American piano pedagogy. The original Schaum Piano Course (Pre-A through Advanced D) trained millions of American children. The supplementary repertoire — Christmas books, hymn arrangements, recital pieces — fills the shelf alongside.
