Shawnee Press was founded by Fred Waring — the Pennsylvanians bandleader — to publish the choral arrangements his ensemble was performing. The voicings were practical, the keys were singable, the difficulty was achievable. Eight decades later, Shawnee remains the working choral library of every school and church choir director who needs music that actually rehearses.
