Bosphorus was founded in 1996 by three master cymbal-smiths — Hasan Seker, Ibrahim Yakici, and Hasan Ozdemir — who grew up in the same Istanbul neighbourhood and trained together at a local cymbal atelier.
The atelier’s defining commitment is to hand work. Every cymbal is meticulously crafted and individually hammered. Production runs at roughly 200–300 cymbals per week — the pace of careful hand craft, not factory throughput.
