Luyben.
The American clarinet ligature, since 1965 — non-abrasive plastic, soundpost design, four dual-point contacts, six house colours. Won’t distort or crush reed fibres.
Soundpost design,
since 1965.
The atelier’s line, set above the door: “Introduced in 1965, Luyben’s ligature allowed the reed to vibrate more freely, due to its unique soundpost design.” The brief that follows: “will not distort or crush reed fibres nor warp the mouthpiece.”
Four dual-point contacts apply controlled vertical pressure while minimising direct contact with the reed. Contoured thumb screws for adjustment. Comes with a protective cap. The whole assembly machined to CAD/CAM tolerances and shipped in six house colours: yellow, silver, red, purple, opaque, black.
