The atelier’s line: every Jo-Ral mute is “handcrafted in the US with the same care and dedication you put into your music.” The original brief came from a New York Philharmonic principal trombonist who wanted a mute with “impeccable sound and playability.”

The hallmark hand-spun aluminum gives even performance in all registers; brass gives a warmer voice; copper gives a darker, richer tone. Material choice is a tonal choice.
