The Scandinavian canon since 1857. Founded in Copenhagen by Jens Wilhelm Hansen, the imprint carries the entire output of Carl Nielsen and major works by Sibelius, Grieg, Niels Gade, Carl Orff and contemporary Nordic voices. Part of the Wise Music Group classical family.
Hansen is the editorial home of Carl Nielsen — every symphony, every string quartet, every song. The catalogue extends through Sibelius (since 1898), Grieg (since 1880), Niels Gade and the Danish romantic tradition. Modern Scandinavian voices — Per Nørgård, Holmboe, Hartmann, Bent Sørensen — continue the imprint into the 21st century.
