My Soul Will Wander Free — for Soprano and Violin (Vocal Score)

This work for soprano and violin was written after the passing of Dorothea Barlowe, the composer's mother. In the midst of making final arrangements after Dorothea's passing and packing up before a move, a small black notebook was found in the back of a bookcase. In flipping through the pages, the poem by Dorothea, a well-known nature illustrator, was discovered. The poem is a prayer that, if her soul can only wander through the forests and nature that she loved, she would not mind so much leaving her life behind. The work is a beautiful work for those that wish to express their love for nature.
