Peace Of God

Mark Hayes has written a lyrical, serene new choral based on Phil. 4:6-9, a familiar passage that tells us perfectly how to embody peace in this challenging world in which we live. Hayes deftly uses unison melody lines, polyphonic sections and traditional 4-part chorale style in this tranquil setting. While there is some divisi in both the men's and women's parts, it is still quite accessible. The flowing, creative piano accompaniment is further enhanced by a solo oboe part, which is included in the octavo. This piece can be programmed year round and is perfect to emphasize the importance of peace in our lives.
