Three Tangos - 2. Promesa A Las Estrellas

Three delightful tangos with piano accompaniment and optional (but highly recommended) violin and cello bring this Argentinian dance to the choral arena. They are best performed as a set. In “Promesa A Las Estrella” the stars are personified as an observer of everything on Earth and the speaker as one who wants them to always see her as good and pure. The poet of this children's poem asks trusting questions, seeking affirmation about morality and purity of something greater which they know is there but cannot fully comprehend. The musical writing captures the essence of a tango unquestionably well.
