The atelier in
Bischofshofen.
Martin Lechner built his first trumpet and his first flügelhorn in 1978, in Bischofshofen, in the Salzburg state of Austria. From that pair of instruments, the atelier has grown into a name across the Austro-German brass tradition — handmade concert trumpets, flügelhorns, piccolo trumpets, trombones, French horns, plus historical and specialty pieces.
The atelier’s production is, by design, slow. Roughly thirty working hours go into each high-quality trumpet or flügelhorn. Lechner’s autobiography carries the title Mein Weg zum goldenen Klang — “My Path to the Golden Sound”.

range.
The atelier’s range covers, per the official catalogue: trumpets in concert, jazz, and piccolo varieties; trombones in tenor, bass, alto, and jazz configurations; French horns and flügelhorns; tubas, euphoniums, and cornetts; plus a small line of woodwinds (flutes, clarinets, saxophones).
The atelier also undertakes specialty historical pieces: baroque trumpets and Wagner tubas. For non-standard configurations and direct workshop conversations, the Concierge handles the conversation.
