Oberrauch.
A South Tyrolean rotary-brass atelier. Trumpets named for Italian cities — Firenze, Milano, Venezia, Roma, Ballet, Opera — in B♭ and C, plus piccolo trumpets after Vivaldi, E♭/D after Neruda and Haydn, and the Rosengarten flügelhorn, named for the Tyrolean Dolomite that turns pink at sunset.
Instrumentenbau
ist Handwerkskunst.
The atelier’s tagline, set in German: “Instrumentenbau ist Handwerkskunst” — instrument-building is the art of the hand. The atelier’s self-described approach is to combine the prior knowledge and experiences of earlier generations with contemporary technical manufacturing processes, with collaboration from professional orchestral players on acoustics and intonation.
The trumpet range carries the names of Italian cities; the flügelhorn carries the name of the Dolomite range that rises directly above the atelier’s home valley. The naming, like the building, sits between an Alpine craft tradition and the Italian repertoire it serves.

The B♭ and C trumpets carry the names Firenze, Milano, Venezia, Roma, Ballet, Opera. The Venezia ships with a J. Meinlschmidt rotary valve mechanism, a bell of 13.0 or 13.5 cm, sheet thickness of 0.40 or 0.45 mm, and one-piece valve slides. The atelier’s own description: balanced intonation, easy and direct response, brilliant tone, rich in overtones, very stable — an all-round instrument suited to daily practice, brass music, soloist work, or orchestral playing.
Beyond the trumpet range: the Vivaldi I and Vivaldi II piccolo trumpets; Neruda and Haydn in E♭ and D; the Rosengarten flügelhorn; bariton; tenorhorn (Machlast). Available in raw, lacquered, silver-plated, and gold-plated finishes.
