Ignaz Pleyel. Ignaz Pleyel (1757-1831) was a France composer. Born 18 June 1757 in Ruppersthal; died 14 November 1831 in Paris. Ignaz (Ignace) Joseph Pleyel was an Austrian composer, music publisher and piano builder of the Classical period. He grew up in Austria, and was educated there; in his mid-twenties he moved to France, and was based in France for the rest of his life.
